FASTSIGNS International, Inc., a sign and visual graphics franchisor of more than 615 FASTSIGNS® centers worldwide, was recently named a recipient of the 2016 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, which is the highest recognition given by the U.S. government that honors organizations for outstanding support of employees serving in the Reserve or Guard.

Lisa and Chris Farr, franchisees of the FASTSIGNS location in Conroe, Texas, are also proud to support military service men and women in the community including their own employees who have served.

FASTSIGNS of Conroe’s newest employee, Steve Schaefer, is a member of the National Guard. Within his first month of working as the center’s Outside Sales Professional, Schaefer attended his annual two-week Guard training and was surprised to receive full pay while he was away.

“We are so grateful for those serving in the military as they protect our freedom at home and across the globe,” said franchisee Chris Farr. “As business owners, we believe that supporting our active duty and veteran employees is part of our responsibility and culture at FASTSIGNS of Conroe. We do not think we did anything special or out of the ordinary and believe every company should do the same.”

Additionally, FASTSIGNS of Conroe offers free “Welcome Home” banners for returning soldiers and their families. People interested in ordering a banner for a loved one returning from military service can contact the center at 936.539.3278 or 326@fastsigns.com.
