Start the Year Off With Meditation That Resonates Rothko Chapel to Host Crystal Bowl Meditation On

Getting 2017 off to a good start is all about setting the right tone.
The Rothko Chapel is doing its part to help -- by hosting a crystal bowl meditation at noon on Sunday, Jan. 1.
Similar to the tradition of Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowl meditation is a practice that uses the quartz crystals bowls to create rich, pure, harmonic tones, designed to aid practitioners in focus and relaxation.
The meditation will be guided by sound practitioner Dana Shamas, who works professionally as a therapeutic yoga teacher, breath-work facilitator, biofield tuning practitioner and a reiki master. She is the founder of Bayou Bliss Yoga, a center for integrative healing, located in the First Montrose Commons neighborhood of Houston.
“Dana has a passion for health and wellbeing that we appreciate at the Chapel,” director of programs and community engagement Ashley Clemmer said. “The crystal bowl mediation is a way to start 2017 off on a clear and beautiful note that can resonate throughout the whole year.”
