Tennis and Fitness Gearing up for the Summer
Planning for the summer can be daunting but some local professionals want to help ease the pain of scheduling activities for children and grandchildren in the Conroe/Montgomery area, in addition to providing a myriad of options for the adult population.
Russ Angell, director of Tennis for April Sound and Adrian Bey, USPTA Elite Professional will be offering programs to meet the needs of all tennis players and pickleball players this summer. Plans for the programs include clinics, Ladies' Leagues, Men's Doubles, Ladies' Beginner Clinics, Cardio Tennis, Pickleball Clinics, Pickleball Doubles Play, and Junior Tennis.
The comprehensive Junior Tennis Program will have three sessions beginning with Session 1 on June 5th. The Junior Tennis Program will be accepting ages 6 thru 13 for the fun program. The Junior Tennis Program registration is open to players across the North Houston area. More information can be obtained by emailing russell.angell@clubcorp.com.
Scheduled adult tennis clinics are held weekly to learn and improve skills. To boost cardio performance, there are weekly Free Cardio Tennis Drills held on Saturday mornings. April Sound has been on the leading edge for the development and fostering of the popular game Pickleball in the local area. Pickleball open doubles take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm.
The April Sound Tennis Club promotes fun, fitness, and friendship, with mixers, socials, and tournaments. The Adrian Bey Tennis Tournament will be held April 29th at the April Sound Tennis Center to help provide scholarships for local students. The tournament begins at 8:30am and spectators are welcome.
More information on all programs can be found at the April Sound Tennis and Fitness facebook page or by calling the tennis shop at 936 588 7230.
