The Red Brick Tavern Awards Private Meal to Donor of Bridgewood Farms

Bridgewood Farms is asking the community to assist with the building campaign to raise $420,000 to build a 5 plex building located on the campus. Helen Schwisow, a parent of one of the clients, recently donated $25,000 to the campaign and to her surprise was awarded an exquisite chef’s meal!
Debbie Glenn, owner of the Red Brick Tavern, awarded a 4-course meal for 10 with wine served and prepared at the recipient's choice of venue to the highest donation through June. Ms. Schwisow was at the Red Brick Tavern during a luncheon with friends when she was surprised to see that she had received the special chef’s meal. Her son Lynn, 43, began attending in 2005 and has lived in the third of 4 homes since it was built in December of 2009.
“The Red Brick Tavern is proud to be part of the Capital Campaign to raise funds for special needs adults”, Said Debbie Glenn. “As parents, we have hopes of our children taking care of themselves as they get older and establishing a family with a career. It really makes you see how blessed we truly are”.
$180,000 is available through a Montgomery County Housing Finance Corporation grant, but matching funds must be raised to receive the funding. Presently there are 4 homes housing 14 residents on the 37 acres of the total 53 acres of Bridgewood Farms. 100 clients attend day classes throughout the week to enable individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to reach their highest potential. The programs that Bridgewood Farms offers builds both self-esteem and personal independence for the clients to lead productive lives.
Bridgewood Farms has been serving Special Needs Adults in the community for 50 years. Community contributions can be made for as little as $100 online at www.BridgewoodFarms.org or by sending a check to Bridgewood Farms at 11680 Rose Road, Conroe, 77303.
