In a world where children are absorbed by computers, cell phones, ipads, and electronics, it is imperative that physical activity be included in their days! Studies indicate that children are spending more time behind a screen than they are being active. Let's be honest, how active is a child with a fidget spinner?

April Sound will be holding clinics for youth ages 8 to 14.

Pickleball was invented over 50 years ago in the State of Washington. Play grew steadily on the west and east coasts. Texas has just seen an explosion in the past several years. Pickleball is easy to play and can be played by all ages and abilities. The game has also been adapted to the special needs community and provides inclusive play for all!

Two United States Pickleball Ambassadors in the Montgomery/Conroe area would like to help you give your child some new skills on August 2nd at the April Sound Tennis Facility. Mary Simpson and Teena Sandberg will be hosting a free Pickleball 101 for Kids. This free clinic will provide instruction in basic skills, rules, court strategy, and play. The clinic will begin at 1:30pm and end at 2:45pm on Wednesday, Aug. 2nd. Spots are limited for this clinic. To register, email teenasandberg@gmail.com.
