Conroe, Texas --

Last year Donaven Lloyd put himself on the map with a game filled with video game-like stats against College Park. Lloyd, the 5’9’’ 195-pound senior running back, will bring that same intensity to finally bring the Tigers back into the playoff mix.

Lloyd isn’t just a one game wonder. He’s a legit threat to get into the end zone every time he touches the ball. And expect him to get the ball often this season. The senior ball carrier has an offer from the Army Black Knights and the offers won’t stop there by the end of the year.

Coming in at number 6 on our Top 10 players to watch for 2017, Lloyd has all the tools to end up number 1 on that list. With the ability to run by you or over you, Lloyd will be a name to remember.

A big loss comes on the offensive line in Cole Brown leaving for North Texas. Making the road to the playoff for the Tigers a little more difficult. Expect Coach Robert Walker to get Lloyd the ball in a plethora of different ways, including some screens and lining the back out wide or in the slot.

Conroe’s first game will be against Cy-Springs on September 1st at 7:00pm at the Berry Center. The Tigers are coming off a 3-7 season in 2016 and look to edge out area rivals College Park and Oak Ridge for a playoff spot.
