Free legal advice clinic Nov. 11 at Conroe VA

In commemoration of Veterans Day, the Houston Bar Association’s Veterans Legal Initiative (VLI) will hold two free legal advice clinics for veterans onSaturday, November 11, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Clinics will be held at the Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic, 690 South Loop 336 West, Conroe, 77304 and at the Texas City VA Outpatient Clinic, 9300 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, 77591. The clinics are open to all veterans and spouses of deceased veterans. No appointment is necessary.

The Conroe clinic is co-sponsored with The Woodlands Bar Association, the Houston Northwest Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. The Texas City Clinic is co-sponsored with the Galveston County Bar Association.

Volunteer attorneys will provide one-on-one legal advice on issues including family law, wills and probate, consumer issues, landlord/tenant law, worker’s compensation, tax issues, bankruptcy, and veterans’ benefits and disability claims. Any veteran or spouse of a deceased veteran can receive legal advice and counsel at the clinics. Veterans who need further legal representation and who qualify for legal aid through the HBA’s Houston Volunteer Lawyers may be assigned to a pro bono attorney to assist them.
