Severe Winter Weather Continues - February 16, 2021

CONROE, TX -- Current forecasts are indicating that Montgomery County will not get above freezing temperatures before Friday, February 19. It is anticipated that the sun will be out in the region today, causing some accumulated
ice to melt. More rain is expected in the overnight hours, into Wednesday morning, which will cause further
icy conditions on the roadways.
The City of Conroe is recommending that all citizens continue to stay home and off the roadways, unless
travel is absolutely essential. Conditions on the roadways continue to be very dangerous. The City of Conroe Offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday due to unsafe road conditions. A warming center is available at the Lone Star Convention Center. If you need a shelter please drive slow and safe.
We want you to know that First Responders have been busy and they need your help. Now is yet another
time for Conroe to shine. We have an opportunity to again show that our City is loving and caring. This freeze may have us home bound, but we can still help. If power has been out in your neighborhood for some time, please check on your neighbors to make sure that they are ok. Maybe they are feeling alone; or just need someone to talk to. Your assistance could help First Responders by helping those in need, within you own neighborhood.
Mayor, Council and City personnel are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as
conditions develop.
