MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank announced Woodforest National Bank donated $100,000 to help the nonprofit organization further its vision of a community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food. At the Food Bank, every dollar donated provides up to four meals, so this donation helps provide up to 400,000 meals for those in need throughout the county.

Montgomery County Food Bank is working hard to meet the steady demand for food assistance as grocery prices and the overall cost of living continue to rise. In January alone, the Food Bank served a total of 761,491 meals to 71,752 people facing hunger in Montgomery County.

“Woodforest National Bank is a faithful supporter of Montgomery County Food Bank and our mission to unite the community to fight hunger,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “Woodforest National Bank’s generous donation has answered the call at a critical time when so many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on the table. Woodforest National Bank’s partnership allows us to continue closing the gap on food insecurity in Montgomery County.”

"Food is a basic human need,” said Kelly Holmes, Chairman of the Montgomery County Food Bank Board of Directors and President & CFO of Woodforest National Bank. “Our neighbors shouldn’t have to choose between paying for nutritious food or other essentials like medications and utilities. So many of our neighbors are facing increasingly difficult choices every day and we want to relieve them of that burden.”

“Woodforest National Bank is proud to support the mission of Montgomery County Food Bank,” said James “Jay” Dreibelbis, President & CEO of Woodforest National Bank. “We are dedicated to enriching lives and communities through vital organizations like Montgomery County Food Bank. We are grateful for the work they do throughout Montgomery County.”

Woodforest National Bank’s $100,000 donation qualifies the company as one of Montgomery County Food Bank’s esteemed Platinum-level ‘Hunger Heroes’ which is the Food Bank’s annual sponsorship program. Each ‘Hunger Hero’ sponsor plays a critical role in the fight to end hunger in Montgomery County. To learn more about Montgomery County Food Bank and its Hunger Heroes program, visit
