Two local products from A&M Corpus Christi sign with Strykers

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Strykers added two local players to the roster this season.
Conroe native Matt Danton and Nolan Holland of Spring will suit up for the squad when the season gets underway on May 30 against the Victoria Generals.
Danton is a sophomore for the Islanders. The 6-foot-3 righty is a mechanical engineering major. He graduated from Willis High School where he was named an All-Houston Area All-Star as a senior. So far for the Islanders this season, Danton has appeared in 10 games going 4-2 with one save. He has thrown 43 innings to go along with 31 strikeouts and has registered a 4.12 ERA.
Holland is a freshman red shirting for the Islanders this season. He came to the program after graduating from Klein Oak High School. He is pursuing a Kinesiology degree.
“Both guys are doing great down in Corpus”, Strykers Assistant General Manager Lance Drake said. “I spoke I spoke to both head coach Scott Malone and assistant Chris Ramirez and they had nothing but good things to say about both guys. He said Danton has done a fantastic job coming out of the pen with an occasional start, and even though Holland is red shirting he does a great job on the mound in practices.”
The Strykers will have a four-game homestand to begin the season from May 30-June 2 against the Generals and East Texas Pump Jacks.
