Montgomery County Central Library in Conroe Announces Events for September 2019
CONROE, TX - The following events are planned for adults, children, young adults, and their families in September 2019 at Central Library, 104 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas.

Saturday, September 14th at 2:00 pm – Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Storyteller Aileen Gardner Kirkham as she reads funny stories from Capt. Book's treasure chest. Families welcome!! This event is sponsored by the Library Friends of Conroe.
Computer Classes
Thursdays on September 5th and 12th from 11 am-12:30 pm – Tech Talk
Have specific technology questions? Ask during Tech Talk! Come in and ask your technology questions in this come and go help session. Melissa is our computer lab assistant and can help you with creating documents, your phone, tablet or laptop.
Monthly or Bi-Monthly Events at the Library
First Thursday, September 5th at 11:15 am – Toddler Playdate
Children, ages birth-3 years, are invited to Toddler Playdate to promote socialization and educational playtime for our youngest patrons. This program focuses on building blocks and building friendships, for both little angels and their caregivers! This program will be a come-and-go program and will last for approximately 1 hour. Parents and caregivers should be prepared to relax and meet other adults, while young patrons increase their socialization and play skills.
First Thursday, September 5th at 4:00 pm – Pre-Teen Book Group
All kids ages 9 -12 years old are invited to join us the first Thursday of the month September - May at 4:00 pm to discuss their favorite books. Select a title of your choice, book selection can be in text or audio format, and you can bring a 'visual' to help tell us about your book. You do not have to be finished reading your book to participate in the discussion. Come anyway! Book discussion and activities will be completed by 5:00 pm. We meet in the Children's Activity Room. Snacks are included! Please note: Adult caregiver will please remain in the Children's Department while your preteen is participating in the book discussion.
Second and Fourth Tuesday, September 10th and 24th at 5pm – Needlecraft: A Good Yarn!
Crocheters, knitters, spinners, and other textile artists are welcome for fellowship and conversation! Bring your own work-in-progress and supplies and join us in the first floor small meeting room at the Central Library. If you would like to learn knitting or crochet, please come by.
Second Thursday, September 12th at 4:00 pm - LEGO® and DUPLO® Fun
All kids ages Birth -12 years old are invited to join us the second Thursday of the month September - May at 4:00 pm to build with Legos and Duplos. Activities will be completed by 5:00 pm. We meet in the Children's Activity Room. Please note: Adult caregiver will please remain in the Children's Activity Room while your child is participating in this program.
Third Tuesday, September 17th at 3:45 pm – R.E.A.D. to the Dogs
All kids ages 4 -12 years old are invited to come and practice their reading skills with Pets With a Mission, Inc. trained dog teams on the third Tuesday of the month September - April at 3:45 - 4:45 pm! We meet in the Children's Activity Room. Free Book: the library provides (1) free book for every six books read with the PWAM dogs. Please ask for details when you arrive. Please note: Adult caregiver will please remain in the Children's Department while your child is participating in this program.

Thursdays at 10:00 am – Baby and Me – Ages Birth-18 mo.
Thursdays at 10:30 am – Toddler Storytime – Ages 18 mo.-3 years

Labor Day – September 2nd all MCMLS branches closed
