CONROE, TX — With freezing temperatures possible later this week and into the weekend, along with a chance of freezing rain, the City of Conroe is closely monitoring forecast conditions. While details are still developing, residents are encouraged to take proactive steps now to prepare for cold weather.

City officials remind residents to follow the 4 P’s of cold-weather preparedness:

  • People: Check on elderly neighbors, individuals with medical needs, or anyone who may require additional assistance during cold weather conditions.
  • Pets: Bring pets indoors when possible and ensure they have a warm place to stay, along with adequate food and unfrozen water.
  • Pipes: Identify and protect exposed pipes and outdoor faucets, and know where your home’s main water shutoff valve is located.
  • Plants: Bring sensitive plants indoors or plan to cover them ahead of freezing temperatures.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed through trusted weather sources and official City communications. Additional severe weather preparedness tips, resources, and updates are available on the City of Conroe’s Severe Weather Information page at www.cityofconroe.org/hurricane_season.php.

City staff will continue monitoring conditions and will share updates and additional guidance as forecast confidence increases.
