School Board recognized for efforts and contributions to CISD

CONROE, Texas -- The Conroe Independent School District is proud to join other districts across the state to celebrate the countless contributions of school board members. The seven members of the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees work tirelessly and devote hundreds of volunteer hours to lead our students to success.
“Daily you demonstrate strength and dedication as you focus on excellence for CISD communities, teachers, staff members, and most importantly, our students,” stated Mrs. Julie English, Principal of Tough Elementary School. Ms. English served as spokesperson for CISD administrators, educators, staff members and students to honor the Board of Trustees at the January 21 Board meeting.
“In many ways, you are helping to ensure that our students graduate with confidence and competence. In doing so, you are also helping to build strong and families and a caring and active community,” said English.
School board trustees shoulder critical responsibilities as advocates for our children. They face difficult challenges and make difficult decisions with the overall goal of promoting student achievement. Working as a vital link between the community and the classroom, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees is responsible for over 55,000 students and approximately 6,000 employees. Our Trustees share a commitment and dedication that all students will receive a quality education while being granted every opportunity to excel in school.
Following Ms. English’s speech, the Board received a standing ovation.
