Basketball: Conroe girls take Holiday Break

CONROE, Texas – The Conroe High School girls’ basketball team enters the Holiday Break at 8-10 overall and 1-3 in District 14-5A play.
The Tigerettes played No. 20 state-ranked The Woodlands close for one half on the road Tuesday before falling 73-49. Reagan Magee poured in 20 points for Conroe. The junior guard hit 2-of-5 shots from 3-point range.
Jane Shute finished with nine points and four rebounds. She shot 50 percent (3-for-6) from the floor.
Erica Powell added six points and five assists while Angie Flores tallied four points. Olivia Iniguez and Courtney Boatright scored three points each and Lauren George and Zakenja Buchanan added two points apiece.
The Caney Creek High School girls’ basketball team will host Magnolia West at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Both teams enter the game with identical 1-4 records in District 18-4A play. Magnolia (5-0) leads the district with Montgomery and Brenham, both 4-1, close behind.
