MCEA Welcomes New Executive Director Chad Patterson

CONROE, Texas -- Montgomery County Emergency Assistance (MCEA) is excited to announce the appointment of Chad Patterson as the new Executive Director. Patterson will begin his duties this coming Monday, November 25.

Chad is a native of Montgomery County and a graduate of Conroe High School. His undergraduate degree is from Baylor University and holds a Masters in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. MCEA welcomes Chad “home” after serving as the Program Director of Presbyterian Children’s Home in the Dallas area.

“Coming home to Montgomery County is an amazing honor for me and my family. The opportunity to join and lead a non-profit that’s committed to improving lives touches the very essence and passion of who I strive to be. I’m excited to be with an agency that is changing to meet the growing needs countywide.”

Chad’s professional experience is directed towards family needs, and cause driven organizations that make an impact on lives. Previously Patterson served 7 years as Executive Director at Camp Buckner (a Christian retreat and camp facility in the Hill Country), 10 years as the Retreat Facilitator for Leadership Montgomery County, and 12 years as the Director of the Challenge Course and Crisis Counselor for Conroe ISD.

Earlier this year the MCEA Board approved an “UP” initiative to better allow clients to achieve more than the “band-aid” fix. “Chad has the experience, vision, and leadership to launch the new initiative”, said Skeeter Hubert, MCEA Board President. “He is the perfect fit and the Board is eager to move forward with the MCEA mission of moving families into self-sufficiency.”

Chad and his wife Liz are blessed with a blended family of 5 children and are expecting their third grandchild soon.

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance is a nonprofit agency that has been in service to the community since 1981 offering real life solutions to our Montgomery County neighbors facing a temporary financial crisis with assistance for rent, utilities, food, clothing, and other basic needs. MCEA focuses on building stronger client relationships, assisting families in establishing attainable goals, assessing community resources and gaining skills to help clients become successful. Montgomery County Emergency Assistance is a funded partner of Montgomery County United Way, the Montgomery County Community Foundation, Houston Endowment, The Woodforest Charitable Foundation, Cut and Shoot Charities, the United Methodist Church of Conroe, and April Sound Church.
